Training Overview
Entry requirements to Training Program
- Successful completion of Basic Physician Training Program including both written and clinical exam components
Overview of Training Program
- Advanced training is a three (3) year program which includes:
- Six months’ experience in general medicine
- Six months’ experience in acute care (Group A rotations)
- Six months’ experience in Group B rotations
- Six months’ experience in Group B or C rotations
- 12 months of non-core training
- All these components are offered at TPCH
- It is encouraged to join the Internal Medicine Society of Australia and New Zealand (IMSANZ) early. Trainee memberships available
What rotations are recommended prior to applying
- Background experience in medical terms
How to improve your chances of selection
Demonstrate:
- Good communication skills
- Broad experience in medical terms
- Appreciation of value of team work
- Attend conferences such as the IMSANZ Annual Scientific Meeting
