Medical Officers’ Careers Guide

This guide has been developed to provide junior medical officers with information on various provisional & specialty training pathways. The focus is the advantages of working and training at TPCH, to provide general guidance on recommended work experience and education prior to application to a college and tips to improve your chances of selection onto your chosen training pathway.

It is not intended to replace information available on individual college websites and it is strongly recommended that you contact the Director of Training of your specialty of interest for individual guidance as early as possible.

The Prince Charles Hospital (TPCH) is tertiary referral hospital with approximately 630 beds and part of the Metro North Hospital and Health Service. The hospital provides health services to people living in the northern suburbs of Brisbane and highly specialised cardiothoracic services to the broader Queensland and northern New South Wales population.
