Building for the future – putting patients first at The Prince Charles Hospital

The Prince Charles Hospital expansion and capital works program is part of the largest health infrastructure investment in Queensland’s history.

Funded by the Queensland State Government, The Prince Charles Hospital infrastructure program responds to the current and future clinical needs of the community and ensure better services for the people of Brisbane, making sure they can receive healthcare faster and closer to home.

The expansion of TPCH will deliver significant improvements to the hospital campus and will support our healthcare service to meet the growing needs of the local community.

Hospital expansion project

The Prince Charles Hospital expansion includes at least 93 new beds, a new emergency department, paediatrics and operating theatres and a new, fully developed plan that meets Hospital and Health Service and clinical needs.

New multi-storey car park

The new TPCH carpark is complete bringing an extra 1507 parking spaces, making it easier for patients, visitors and staff to access convenient car parking at the hospital.

Mental health crisis stabilisation unit

The Nujum Jawa Crisis Stabilisation Unit is now complete and provides a dedicated therapeutic space for individuals experiencing a mental health crisis.

The $360 million hospital expansion of The Prince Charles Hospital is part of the Queensland Government’s $9.78 billion Capacity Expansion Program as part of the Queensland Health and Hospitals Plan.
