Neurology
Neurologists are clinicians who deal with disorders ranging from diseases of muscle to disorders of cognitive function and behaviour, using clinical tools ranging from molecular biology through electrophysiology to functional neuroimaging.

Training Overview
Entry requirements to Training Program
- Completion of three (3) years Basic Physician Training [BPT] as well as the written and clinical examinations
- Selection of Advanced Trainees is a centralised ‘matching’ process for available positions in Queensland and is based on your Curriculum Vitae and an Interview
Overview of Training Program
Three (3) years of advanced training:
- Two (2) years core training in clinical neurology with responsibility for patient care
- One (1) year elective
Rotations are for twelve (12) months.

Hours of work can be quite flexible. It is possible to choose the amount of after hours work.
Employment options include:
- university-employed academic with major research focus
- staff specialist in a teaching hospital with both clinical and academic priorities

It is possible to train part time.
