Metro North Health is the largest Hospital and Health Service in Australia and has been proudly supporting the Norfolk Island Community since January 2022. Our services to Norfolk Island are funded by the Australian Government. The Norfolk Island Support Program (NISP) — our dedicated support team for Norfolk Island specialised care — works closely with our Metro North hospital clinical staff, Norfolk Island Residential and Aged Care Service (NIHRACS) and other local healthcare providers.
NIHRACS continues to deliver essential healthcare services to the Norfolk Island community locally on Norfolk Island, while Metro North Health provides specialised tertiary services that are not available on Norfolk Island.
We’re all about working together, sharing what we know, and helping where we can.

Patient Journey Story
My name is Kelvin, and I am a proud Norfolk Island resident.
I’ve first presented to Metro North Health Services in July 2024 and continue accessing Metro North Health Services for my specialised care. Traveling to Brisbane for treatment felt daunting at first, however from my very first visit the staff put me at ease.
