Caboolture Hospital Emergency Department (ED) has welcomed Bri into a new ‘Better Together’ research role that focuses on providing cultural support to our First Nations’ patients.

Bri, a proud Mununjali woman, grew-up in Caboolture and previously worked as an Indigenous Health Liaison Officer at both Caboolture and Redcliffe Hospitals.

In her new position, Bri plays an important role in gathering information and data to help tackle health issues facing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders.

She also helps to create a safe and welcoming environment by improving communication between clinicians and patients and works hard to build patient trust and increase understanding during their stay.

This small but meaningful change made by Caboolture ED and is an important step towards Closing the Gap.
