Caboolture Hospital multi-storey car park opens

More parking is arriving at Caboolture Hospital, with the anticipated opening of the six-level multi-storey car park set for 6 am on Monday, 16 October 2023.

The multi-storey car park will significantly boost parking capacity for patients, visitors and staff with approximately 1000 parks, including accessible parking, motorcycle parking and electric vehicle charging stations.

When the multi-storey car park opens, there will be approximately 1500 car parks on the Caboolture Hospital campus each day for patients, visitors and staff to share.

As with all hospitals in South East Queensland, the opening of the multi-storey car park signals the introduction of paid parking at Caboolture Hospital.

Paid parking will commence on Monday, 30 October 2023, after a two-week free parking period to allow everyone the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the new car park.

The cost to park on the Caboolture Hospital campus ranges from $3 for one hour, to a maximum daily rate capped at $13. It will always be free to drop off and pick up patients from the hospital by using one of the designated drop-off zones.

The car park is owned and operated by Metro North Health, which means every dollar collected from parking rates will come back to Metro North Health to be used for capital repayments, operations, maintenance and improvements to the car park. The purpose of the car parking rates is cost recovery and the hospital will not be making a profit.

A concession program is in place to provide discounted parking for people who are experiencing financial hardship, who need to attend hospital frequently, who attend for an extended period of time, or have other special considerations.

The multi-storey car park has been delivered as part of the Caboolture Hospital Redevelopment, which will deliver capacity for an additional 130 beds and deliver more specialised care and high-level services that meet the health needs of the local community.
