Community raises $200k for Redcliffe

Redcliffe Hospital Giving Day has raised more than $200,000, thanks to the hard work and generous support of hospital staff and the Peninsula community.

Raise it for Redcliffe began in 2021 as a partnership between Redcliffe Hospital and the RBWH Foundation and has now raised more than $700,000.

Redcliffe Hospital Acting Executive Director Louise O’Riordan said that Giving Day was an opportunity for everyone to celebrate the central role that Redcliffe Hospital plays in its community.

“The funds raised by Raise it for Redcliffe on Giving Day have a powerful impact, from supporting the research fellowships at the hospital to funding upgrades for patient and visitor facilities in areas like our Palliative Care Unit and Rehabilitation Units,” Louise said.

“Those funds are also used to support Raise it for Redcliffe’s Wishlist Grants, which provide funding for smaller-scale projects that have a big practical impact on patient care and staff wellbeing.”

Louise said the hospital’s staff and clinical community strongly supported Giving Day again this year.

“We had more than a dozen staff and clinicians volunteering their own time to make and take calls from donors in the phone room, and our Allied Health team ran a bake sale that raised thousands of dollars,” she said.

“It’s humbling to see how our community gets behind Giving Day too – with local businesses and institutions like community radio station Bridge FM, some of our strongest supporters.”

“To everyone who donated and contributed to the success of this year’s Giving Day, the hospital community says thank you.”
