NeoHOME

NeoHOME is a home visiting trial program.  If you are caring for your baby at home with the support of the NeoHOME program, the following information will help you with tube feeding, how to assess a feed, what to do if the tube comes out and what to do if you are worried or if your baby gets sick.

The contact number for the NeoHOME nurse is located on top of your equipment box.

The team will have talked to you about the process for NeoHOME but below is a reminder

Parent information for home – leaflet

Home visits take place between 8:30am and 3:00pm, seven days per week

  • Staff visiting your home will introduce themselves and have their hospital identification visible.
  • You have agreed to home visiting so the expectation is that you will be home for each visit.
  • The nurse will call you before 8:30am to arrange a time to visit. If you have done an early morning feed and have gone back to sleep and might not answer the call, please text the NeoHOME nurse on 0499 942 168 to tell them what time the feeds are due during the day so the team can continue to plan their visiting schedule.

Problems with your feeding tube

If your baby’s feeding tube has come out, refer to your “parent plan”

If you are worried about your baby, the parent plan has advice about what to do.

If it is an emergency, do not hesitate to call “000”.
