Adult Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation ECMO Course 2025
Date: 4-7 November 2025
Time: TBC
Venue: The Prince Charles Hospital, Education Centre
This 4-day course will enable multidisciplinary teams with little ECMO experience to provide ECMO for patients with severe cardiac and respiratory failure.
Masks are an important defence against respiratory illness and protection from dust and other airborne hazards.

The team at the hospital's Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Unit encouraged the community to donate books as part of Indigenous Literacy Day, and were inundated with publications for all ages, that will be shared with children at the Koobara Kindy and Preschool in Taigum. 🚸
Proud Yidinji and Mamu woman Leicha works alongside Director of Facility Services Janene and other members of the Reconciliation Action Plan working group to develop initiatives like the book donation program.
👉 As well as initiating positive projects, Leicha's role as Indigenous Nurse Navigator ensures culturally and clinically appropriate care is provided for all of our identified patients.
"Breaking down system barriers for our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients helps them receive better education and access to their healthcare needs."
"These books will help little ones learn and grow, now and into the future."
Dear Bother and sister I request you regarding the orphans we have 107 orphans there are small children they have no earner in their house I request you to donate some things or extra for them. Be it clothes or extra shoes and Food is needed . I have a list of orphans. If you need it, I will send it to your inbox.Share with your friends and relatives. And be a part of these prayers. Every small donation of yours can become a ray of light for their future. Let's be their support according to our status. Let's all try together. These steps are small, but the journey of sorrow and loneliness is very long. It's time to end the silent suffering. With your donation, we can not only give love to these children, but also add color to their lives again. And definitely help orphaned children.
When April walked the wards as a nurse, she never knew her interest in wound care would turn into a whole new career path in podiatry. 🦶 👣
As an Advanced Podiatrist, April works with teams including infectious diseases, vascular, orthopaedic, endocrinology, diabetes and a number of allied health colleagues at both Redcliffe and Caboolture Hospital.
"In my 13 years as a Podiatrist, I have worked with patients with a number of unique conditions relating to their feet, ankles and lower limbs," April shares.
"People who have an interest in physiotherapy and rehabilitation should consider a career in podiatry as there are so many physiological and structural connections that relate back to our feet."
An exciting new Podiatrist Trainee Program for podiatry students has opened, with those looking for a leg-up in a new career encouraged to apply here. 👇

Spring might have sprung, but Director of Emergency Services at Redcliffe Hospital Dr Alan Yan said the hospital is still seeing lots of patients, including many for respiratory illnesses common in winter. 🌼
With our ED doors always open, it is worth remembering that some of our other emergency care options might work better for lower acuity needs - including our Virtual Emergency Care Service and Satellite Health Centres.
“We are facing higher than usual demands due to respiratory illnesses and a higher presentation of our frail community members," he said.
“If you are needing emergency care, we will always be here for you, but please consider some alternatives if you have minor or non-urgent health concerns.”

It is essential to prioritize the well-being of hospital staff when they are unwell. By doing so, we can facilitate their recovery and ensure they return to work as soon as possible.
So frustrating for the staff I imagine. They (patients) carry on about wait times they’re only long because much effort is directed to people that could be seen elsewhere.

I've had the unfortunate privilege of accompanying two relatives into Redcliffe Emergency with fractures, including one your team urgently checked a potential head injury in addition to the broken bones. In both cases, your team were very diligent, efficient and kind. Thank you!
In other words, 'go find a GP' for your petty or non-urgent stuff. One picky-bit. Run these sorts of things past a non-medical person first. Would every tradie or Old Fart or teenager or immigrant know the meaning of stuff like "lower acuity needs"?

i just got rid of my Thyroid disease, Alot of people are still suffering from this disease because of what the medical doctors say when they found out you have Thyroid disease (there is no complete cure for Thyroid) which is not true I was cured by 👇👇👇👇👇 Doctor Williams
The administration of the Emergency Department needs a review and whilst the staff continue to work against the odds, the Directive issued by the Minister re funding to be cut if a patient stays longer than 24 hours in the department remains extremely questionable. I also note that there's a new Director of Medcine but overall, the Hospital Boards structure (State wide) needs to be reviews.
