The 2025 Research Snapshot marks 10 years of celebrating researchers and research excellence in Metro North Health. Across the years this publication has provided a platform to acknowledge our researchers and explore the variety of ways their research is shaping the health outcomes of our patients, the way we deliver care, and driving research impact. I hope you enjoy and are inspired by these stories.
Metro North Health and the facilities that comprise our health service have a longstanding history of research excellence. The Research Snapshot tells the stories of our researchers and their research, often the product of years of curiosity and dedication.
As the Executive Director of Research, I am committed to advancing our research agenda for Metro North. And, as a clinician, I am passionate about improving healthcare outcomes for our patients and the community through research. It is increasingly important that as a health service we continue to support and encourage research that will shape the future of our health system.
It is clear in reading this Research Snapshot that Metro North Health is helping to tackle healthcare challenges at a local and national level by integrating consumer perspectives, developing new treatments and diagnostics, and improving the way we deliver and manage care within the context of increasing health system burden and complexity of disease.
We are proud of our researchers and their achievements, and the Research Snapshot is one of the many ways we strive to acknowledge and promote research. Together with the Research Excellence Awards, these both place our researchers and their research front and centre to celebrate and recognise their immense value to our health service.
