Connecting Care to Country

Sharing ICOP & IROC knowledge across Queensland

Acknowledgement of Country

We would like to acknowledge the Traditional Custodians across the lands, waters and seas of this great country and thank their Elders past, present and future for their continued custodianship.

Connecting Care to Country is a state-wide, specialised service, providing cardiac (ICOP) and respiratory (IROC) outreach programs across Queensland.

We currently visit 34 communities providing culturally safe health care. The program aims to improve the experience and health outcomes of clients living in rural and remote communities in Queensland while providing a holistic cultural focus for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

About the artwork

Together, we are treading softly to heal gently.

This artwork tells the story of where Metro North Hospital and Health Service has been, where it is today, and where it will go in the years ahead.

The artwork concept and narrative was developed by David Williams. David is a proud Wakka Wakka artist at Gilimbaa.
