Aged Care - Gannet House

Gannet House is a Commonwealth funded and accredited Residential Aged Care Facility.

This 40-bed home provides specialised residential care for those with an intellectual disability, bariatric and/or aged care needs.

Clinical services are provided through a multidisciplinary team approach which includes skilled nursing staff, allied health, administrative and ancillary staff. Gannet House operates under legislated nurse ratios and has a minimum of two registered staff on each shift.

Applications for entry to Gannet House ate accepted for those primarily from the Metro North catchment area. Gannet House is responsive to the needs of the community and acute hospitals within the catchment area in facilitating residency.

Our services

Gannet House is conveniently located at the waterfront at Brighton, within Brighton Health Campus.

Residents and visitors have easy access to public transportation, there are bus stops outside the entry to the campus and there is free onsite parking.

Gannet House is a purpose built Specialised Aged Care Facility. It offers a home-like environment in design and furnishings. Residents’ rooms are single with a shared ensuite. The home is arranged in four wings with access to specific equipment to meet the needs of residents (e.g. bariatric hoists, chairs, beds etc).

The home offers access to outdoor courtyards and the shared pathway along the waterfront. Multiple common areas include private lounge areas, reading and painting nooks, a pool table, beachside café and music room .

Refer a patient

Exclusion criteria: Clinical or other needs may preclude suitable admission  and/or Violence / behavioural disturbances that put other residents / staff at significant risk

All applications to be submitted to:  coh-cncagedcare@health.qld.gov.au or through the My Aged Care portal. All applications require a current ACAT (Support plan) for permanent residential care. 

Referral to the Older Persons Mental Health can be made via the Older Persons Mental Health Team
