Light globe ideaAbout this co-design framework

This framework has been developed collaboratively by Metro North Health staff and consumers to provide guidance to creating better healthcare together through co-design.

We have designed this framework to:

  • be used by anyone
  • assist co-design projects from local quality improvements through to service re-design and large research projects
  • be flexible in how it’s used, whether that’s from start to finish, or picking it up wherever you are at in your co-design journey
  • be layered, so you can get an overview of the concepts, or deep-dive on topics relevant to you
  • share information through drawings, videos, and case studies

We have co-designed this framework to help Metro North Health to realise our MN32 vision to be national leaders in co-designed health services. This framework draws on the professional and lived experience of clinicians, past and current patients/clients, designers and health service managers. We would like to recognise the important contributions of all individuals and groups involved in the development of this framework. This project was funded by a Metro North SEED/LINK project grant.

We hope this framework enables you and your team to create better healthcare together.
