Kidney Supportive Care Symposium 2021

The 2021 Kidney Supportive Care Symposium will be an opportunity to hear from leading international, national and state speakers on the latest in the sphere of Kidney Supportive Care.

This Symposium is open to academics, health care practitioners across all disciplines, and consumers, and is planned to be provided as a blended event (in person and on-line).

Keynote speaker – Edwina Brown, Consultant Nephrologist, Imperial College Renal and Transplant Centre, Hammersmith Hospital, London. Professor of Renal Medicine, Imperial College London

Professor Edwina Brown’s main research interests are peritoneal dialysis, dialysis outcomes in the older people and renal palliative care.  She was the principal investigator for FEPOD (Frail Elderly Patient Outcomes on Dialysis) comparing outcomes on assisted PD and haemodialysis with conservative care.

She is currently working on a project integrating renal and elderly care and is starting a study Kidney Transplantation in Older People (KTOP). She organises an annual meeting on Renal Supportive Care and co-organises the UK PD Academy. She co-chaired the ISPD guideline committee (2014-2020) and has overseen the development of the 2020 guideline on ‘Prescribing high quality, goal-directed peritoneal dialysis’.

She has published extensively on peritoneal dialysis and dialysis in the elderly and is the author/editor of several books.  She is president-elect for the ISPD (2020-2022).

Registration

Early Bird Registration, $120 per person including GST: closes 17 January 2021

Standard Registration, $150 including GST: 18 January to 26 February 2021
Your registration includes morning tea and lunch.

Online only attendance, $75: closes 5 March 2021

Please note your receipt may show the register’s name and not the delegates name. Your facility name will be listed on the receipt which can be used to submit a personal expense claim form.

Getting to the conference

There is a range of parking and transport options at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital. For online attendance, an email with access link and online etiquette guidance will be provided ahead of symposium date.
