Severe weather information for patients at Metro North facilities
The Bureau of Meteorology predicts heavy to locally intense rainfall which may lead to dangerous and life-threatening flash flooding following ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred.
Metro North Health will continue to provide our patients the care they need during the severe weather event. All our hospital emergency departments remain open.
We are working hard to ensure that planned care, including surgery, outpatients and endoscopy can re-commence on Monday, however some changes may need to be made once the impact of the rain over the next 24 hours is known. Metro North Health recognises that postponement of care can be frustrating, but our focus remains on keeping everyone safe.
Any patients who cannot have their planned care resumed will be contacted directly to reschedule their appointment/care.
If you have a scheduled appointment that has not been postponed, and you are unable to make the appointment due to the severe weather, we can reschedule it for you. Contact the number on your appointment information letter.
We want everyone to remain safe, so please don’t travel when it is not safe to do. We encourage you to check your route to our facilities to make sure it is clear:
