Pauline is a Human Genetics Society of Australasia registered Senior Genetic Counsellor. Pauline established Australia’s first Metabolic Nurse Co-ordinator role at the Victorian Clinical Genetics Service, Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne in 1992 before moving onto Sydney where she then established Australia’s first ever Familial Cancer Clinic at the Prince of Wales Hospital in 1994. She was the first member of staff at Genetic Health Queensland following the establishment of the department in 1995. She has been the genetic counselling clinical lead for prenatal and fetal medicine genetic counselling services for Queensland since this time. In 2013 she was awarded a Churchill Fellowship to explore the provision of counselling support for women accessing emerging pre-natal testing technologies. In addition to her clinical roles, Pauline is a member of the Queensland Maternal and Perinatal Quality Council and the Congenital Abnormalities Sub-Committee. She has also been involved in the development of national guidelines and Queensland Clinical guidelines or screening and diagnosis in pregnancy.
