Picturing Cancer Survivorship

A collection of photographs from the ‘changing landscapes of survivorship’ study

Picturing Cancer SurvivorshipDate: 5 November 2018
Venue: Ground level Ned Hanlon Building, Ground floor walkway through to the Joyce Tweddell Building, Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital

Even though we regularly see and hear about it in the media, we don’t always fully understand what it’s like to live with cancer. We hear about ‘fighting the battle’ and how tough cancer treatment can be, but what is living with cancer actually like – away from the hospital and back in ‘everyday’ life?

Exhibited throughout November, Picturing Cancer Survivorship is a collection of photographs providing a glimpse inside life with cancer through the eyes of those who have lived it – people living with cancer.

‘The changing landscapes of survivorship’ is a multi-year research study supported by the Australian Research Council, based at UNSW Sydney’s Practical Justice Initiative (www.pji.arts.unsw.edu.au), in collaboration with Cancer Care Services clinicians, patients and families at The Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital and Prince Charles Hospital.

The exhibit will be displayed at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital from Monday 5 November to Friday 30 November – Ground level Ned Hanlon Building, Ground floor walkway, through to the Joyce Tweddell Building.
