Arriving in the Grantley Stable Neonatal Unit
Welcome to the Grantley Stable Neonatal Unit (GSNU) at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital (RBWH). We know that this is a stressful time for you and your family, and we hope the information provided here will help during your stay in the nursery.
The GSNU is on the fifth floor of the Ned Hanlon Building at the RBWH. It is a large neonatal unit (or “nursery”) and has two areas – Intensive Care Nursery (ICN) and Special Care Nursery (SCN). Your baby may be admitted into either part of the nursery and move from one area to another, depending on how your baby is progressing. Your nursing team will keep you up to date if your baby is moved to a different room.
While your baby is receiving care in the nursery, the nursing, medical and health care team in the GSNU encourage you to be at the center of all care provided to your baby.
