For Redcliffe Hospital Allied Health assistant and Army Reservist Cassady, Anzac Day is a solemn and important opportunity to pay tribute to those who served.

Having dedicated 20 years of his life to his military career, Cassady has seen both the best and the very worst of what humans are capable of.

“Mateship is the greatest thing about the Army experience. You bond over things that most people will never encounter,” he says.

“During my time serving, I’ve been deployed overseas in peacekeeping capacities and been involved in many domestic operations, including disaster response. These days I mainly instruct on land combat modules, initial employment training and I am small arms instructor.”

Today and every day, Metro North recognises and commemorates the sacrifices of our Anzacs. Lest we forget.
