The Allied Health Research Collaborative (AHRC) is a thriving research group based at The Prince Charles Hospital (TPCH) providing direct research support and leadership across allied health disciplines. Our clinicians bring clinical insight integrated with the latest evidence to lead impactful, collaborative translational research dedicated to improving healthcare delivery and outcomes. Our vision is to enable people to live healthy, happy and productive lives away from the hospital setting. To achieve this, we bring together clinicians from Allied Health, Medicine and Nursing to help translate our research findings into clinical practice and strengthen the evidence base for hospital and integrated healthcare practice. We are also focused on building the research capability of clinical staff at TPCH, Metro North and across Queensland Health. Our research leaders and collaborators are recognised globally in their fields. We currently support over 100 active research projects across areas including chronic lung disease, diabetes, dementia, heart failure, mental health, orthopaedics, paediatrics, palliative care, sleep, stroke, transplant and traumatic brain injury. We actively collaborate with academic institutions, health services, and industry partners to co-create evidence-based solutions for better patient care.
