The Herston Health Precinct Symposium
2-4 September 2024

After much planning and preparation, the three days of this showcase research event for the Herston Health Precinct seemed to go by so quickly. Special thanks to the Symposium Steering Committee for bringing this event together so successfully.

The program and speakers were exceptional. The Education Centre was buzzing with activity with hundreds of attendees, 187 submitted abstracts, 70 printed posters, 61 e-posters, 39 oral presentations and 8 exhibition tables.

Other highlights included the panel discussion, Innovative research pathways for clinicians and consumers, the Great Debate on whether quantitative research is better than qualitative research and the keynote presentation by Professor Elizabeth Powell, Clinical Director, QIMR Berghofer – Aspiring clinician-researchers – the Herston Health Precinct needs you!

Many people commented on the ambiance provided by the Stairwell Project Musicians throughout the event. Thank you to our presenters, organisers, sponsors and to everyone who participated. Congratulations also to the award winners across the eight categories!
