The Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy Screening Clinics (MPSC) and Multidisciplinary Service (MDS) aims to:

  • Reduce waiting lists and waiting times for orthopaedic or neurosurgical surgeons
  • Provide improved care for patients with conditions affecting their spine or joints
  • Improve access to non-surgical treatment including physiotherapy and other allied health

Where will I have my treatment?

Depending on where you live, you may have your appointments at:

  • Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital
  • North Lakes
  • Telehealth (online)

You may also be referred to other health services if they are suitable for your location and needs.

You may have appointments with a few of our allied health staff including:

  • Physiotherapy
    • A physiotherapist will work with you to start exercises and treatment for your condition.
  • Psychology
    • A psychologist will work with you to help you manage your physical and emotional health.
  • Occupational therapy
    • An occupational therapist will help you engage with your day-to-day tasks affected by your condition.
  • Pharmacy
    • A pharmacist will work with you to help you best manage your medications.
  • Dietitian
    • A dietitian will work with you to help you with your diet and lifestyle.

Your treatment with physiotherapy may involve some hands on treatment, exercises to do at home, hydrotherapy or gym classes.
