Overview

Established in 1962, the Kenneth G Jamieson Department of Neurosurgery is a major neurosurgical referral centre in Queensland. Recognised as a world-class multidisciplinary facility, the department performs over 1000 operations and provides outpatients services to over 4000 people each year. Staff within the neurosurgery department take an innovative approach to healthcare and passionately engage in research to improve the welfare of their patients.

Research

The Department fosters a culture of research to advance the field of Neurosurgery. Staff in the department regularly publish peer-reviewed articles, present at international conferences and attract competitive grant funding. They engage in a broad spectrum of research projects including multi-centre clinical trials evaluating novel techniques and interventions.
