Transition support
All graduate registered nurses and midwives are supported as they transition into their new role.
Transition processes can be facilitated by:
- Formal orientation programs
- Transition Support Programs
- Planned skill acquisition / assessment
- Seminars / clinical workshops / study days
- Self-directed learning activities
- Other educational activities.
Transition support programs
Transition support programs are contemporary, post-registration, clinical and continuing professional development programs. They are designed to support the attainment of a competent, safe and skilled nursing and midwifery workforce across the continuum of practice within Metro North Health. Some transition support programs will articulate to post-graduate study credits with affiliated tertiary facilities.
