Metro North is committed to the highest standards of research integrity and expects all those who conduct or administer research to comply with the relevant legislation, regulatory guidelines, codes of conduct and policy as they relate to research.
Research Policy
The Metro North Research Policy provides a framework for the responsible and ethical design, conduct and communication of research. This ensures that all research conducted by, or in collaboration with, Metro North is of the highest ethical and scientific standard, and complies with the relevant legislation, regulatory guidelines, codes of conduct, national best practice guidelines, standard operating procedures and institutional policies.
The Metro North Research Policy addresses research approvals, including Human Research Ethics Committee (HREC) review, site authorisation (research governance) and post-approval reporting requirements. The policy addresses research integrity matters, including conflict of interest, authorship, financial management, intellectual property, and breaches of the code. The policy provides guidance on engaging consumers in research and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander considerations.
External Researchers Policy
Metro North regularly undertakes collaborative research with individuals who are not employed by Metro North. The External Researchers Policy outlines the mandatory requirements for external researchers who request access to a Metro North facility for the purposes of research.
