Cath Lab Nurse Zuzana has been on her own health journey outside the 9-5 at TPCH, recently celebrating being cancer-free after going through breast cancer. 💝
After being given the 'all-clear', Zuzana shared how appreciative of the care and dedication she received, including deciding to grow her hair and shave it to raise over $2000 for breast cancer awareness with all donations going to the BreastScreen clinic in Chermside where her cancer was detected. 🪒👩🦲
"When you face the results, your heart and your head stop communicating," Zuzana says.
"It is such a shock, and then you have people in the clinic who organise everything and make appointments with specialists, so you don't have to worry about it.
"I am eternally grateful for everything, and as a healthcare professional, I do appreciate the support and gentle care given to me in this clinic."
👏 #ShoutoutSaturday to our BreastScreen team and we're happy for you Zuzana!

I switched to an alternative treatment from Dr. Gbojie, which I found effective for my diagnosis. All the medications I had previously taken over the counter were not working as I expected. I was on chemotherapy for almost a month, but my tumor continued to spread. Turning to alternative treatment wasn’t something I initially planned, but it became my only option after chemotherapy failed to help my cancer diagnosis. Fortunately, the holistic treatment from Dr. Gbojie brought positive results, and I began to recover. You can also consider trying alternative treatment from a registered holistic doctor like Dr. Gbojie Natural Cure

Metro North Clinical Nurse Consultant Jane has been a nurse for 23 years, and has worked as a McGrath Foundation nurse, supporting breast cancer patients at RBWH and TPCH.
However, Jane was unaware she was about to face a significant personal challenge of her own.
“I lost my hearing in my left ear nearly two years ago, so my disability is very new,” Jane said.
“When I returned to work, post cochlear surgery, no one really knew how to help me, including me,” Jane said.
“I want to help raise awareness, so everyone has disability at the forefront of their thinking in all aspects of work and life, and I think Metro North ENABLE will be the way forward.”

Jane is such an amazing person and nurse ❤️❤️
Yeap I lost hearing in left ear after a big brain injury.
Wow Jane so sorry to learn about your surgery etc. Good for you to move forward and promote this awareness in the workplace. ❤️
I’m an RN and I became deaf in 1 ear overnight too! That was 18m ago. It’s bloody hard. Nurses stations are LOUD.
I had the same experience but it was March 2020. Covid meant I couldn’t get in to see anyone. Some of the treatment options had closed. Had my cochlear surgery November 2020 and yes it’s hard. Good on you for advocating for yourself and others. Good luck
Amazing lady 🌺

Celebrating 20 years since her heart, double lung and liver transplant at TPCH, Lucinda has not only defied the odds with her health, but she continues to rewrite the record books with every new accomplishment.
Taking hundreds of tablets a week, attending 55 clinical appointments every year and meeting with the transplant team every 12 weeks would be a challenge for most of us, but for Lucinda it's simply an acknowledgement of the gift of life she was given all those years ago.
"Normal life is the important stuff," shares Lucinda.
"I've been really lucky to have all the same people looking after me from the beginning."
"I'm still seeing the same head doctor and the same physio and pharmacists, we're so close that they feel like family."

Jane, you are a dead set legend and an inspiration for your perseverance! 🙏🏼
Aww you are such an inspiration lovely lady 💞💞

Mines my Right ear and had my Cochlear surgery May 2023. Would love to learn sign language
🥳🙏
Miss Jane, you have been a champion adapting, you should be so proud 🩷🩷
Did you get your surgery with Qhealth ?
Was it stress related your ear loss?
My mom was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2019. It spread to her lungs and liver. The pain she felt was unbearable and this affected my family. She was on gemcitabine, capecitabine Vitamin C nd Collagen supplements but to no avail. If not for the help of Herbalist Eugene who used his herbal medicine to cure her, she would be deceased by now. I recommend everyone to use it. 👇👇 www.facebook.com/herbalist-eugene-937568042773883

Wow ! I hope you have a healthy, happy and wonderful 2026. 🥰
You forgot to add hundreds of blood tests . Anti- rejection drug cyclosporine needs to be monitored closely to maintain blood levels at a safe level.
Outstanding.
It’s that funny time of year when we aren’t really sure what day it is, but for our wonderful nurses it’s just another day in the festive season! 🫣🎁
While many of us debate if it’s Wednesday or Saturday (it’s actually Sunday FYI!) we do still have appointments running at many facilities, including at the Day Unit Investigation and Therapy Unit at TPCH where NUM Sarah with nurses Lachlan and Stephanie are ‘holding down the fort!’
📲 “If you get a call from No Caller ID and you have an appointment at this time of year, there’s a chance that it could be us calling," shares Sarah.
“We are open across the festive season every day except public holidays for all of your therapies and procedures.”
"If you need to reschedule, we are here to help - let us know if you can't make it. 🤳
