Research policy and procedures

The Metro North Research Policy and Procedures provide a research integrity framework to promote the responsible and ethical design, conduct and communication of research. These documents provide clear and consistent guidelines for all research in Metro North. The Policy and each of the procedures are written to ensure compliance with all legislative, regulatory and best practice frameworks, and are based on the principles of the:

Research Policy

The Metro North Research Policy provides overarching guidance for all research undertaken in Metro North HHS.

This ensures that all research conducted by, or in collaboration with, Metro North HHS is of the highest ethical and scientific standard, and complies with the relevant legislation, regulatory guidelines, codes of conduct, national best practice guidelines, standard operating procedures and institutional policies.

External Researchers Policy

Metro North Hospital and Health Service (Metro North) regularly undertakes collaborative research with individuals who are not employed by Metro North or Queensland Health, or who are not otherwise appropriately engaged as an external health professional, student or a conjoint research appointment. These individuals are collectively referred to as external researchers. This policy outlines the mandatory requirements for external researchers who request access to Metro North facilities for the purposes of research.
