Human Research Ethics Committee
The Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital Human Research Ethics Committee (HREC) (EC00172) and The Prince Charles Hospital Human Research Ethics Committee (EC00168) are constituted and act in accordance with the:
- National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Human Research
- Declaration of Helsinki
- Australian Code for the Responsible Conduct of Research
- Note for Guidance on Good Clinical Practice.
Meeting and submission closing dates
Researchers need to complete the application process and submit their application by 12.00pm on the closing date to be considered on the meeting date. Submission can be made by post or in person to the correct HREC office. Both HRECs meet once a month. LNR applications and exemption requests are reviewed out of session and can be submitted at any time. The Prince Charles Hospital is no longer an administering institution for grants from the NHMRC. The Universities receive a secondary gain for successful NHMRC grants and therefore are the preferred option for NHMRC grant submissions.
