6 September 2021
Dear colleagues,
I hope you all had a lovely day on Sunday celebrating Father’s Day with family, friends and loved ones.
Queensland recorded no new local cases today after a four-year-old girl was infectious in the community for two days. All close contacts of the childcare centre of this case, three staff and 17 children, tested negative.
Checking in
A reminder to please continue checking in everywhere you go. It’s become a routine for all of us now, so have your phone ready every time you attend a new place. If you are a close contact, you need to alert Queensland Health authorities as well as going to get tested and isolating. Even if you get a negative result, our contact tracers need to know who they can mark off their testing list and can move on to other close contacts.
The new exposure sites have been added to the Queensland Health contact tracing list, ensure that you check this as soon as you can and follow the instructions listed on the website. Further contact tracing will be conducted, make sure you continue to check the contact tracing list.
New mass vaccination hub opening this week
Metro North are currently in the final stages of preparing a new mass vaccination hub which will open this Wednesday at the Boondall Entertainment Centre. Encourage your friends and family to register for the vaccine and let them know they can choose Boondall as their vaccination site.
It will be open seven days a week, has free parking onsite and is available to all eligible Queenslanders.
Metro North remains on Tier 1
Despite this ease of restrictions, Metro North will continue to remain on Tier 1 in our COVID response plan and moderate risk PPE, with fever clinic staff and emergency department triage staff wearing P2/N95 masks. We will be assessing this status over the next few weeks.
PPE guidelines are online for healthcare delivery and for residential aged care and disability accommodation.
