20 September 2021
Dear colleagues,
Queensland recorded zero new community cases of COVID-19 and two in hotel quarantine. Another case, not represented in our state’s numbers, tested positive in the NT after travelling through the Brisbane Domestic Airport. Investigation is underway to determine where the man spent his four-hour layover.
Super Pfizer Weekend success
A massive thank you to all our staff who worked on the weekend to support Queensland Health’s Super Pfizer Weekend. With your help, the state administered 56,907 doses of the vaccine to the community – this couldn’t have been done without you!
Metro North Health will be making all clinics walk-in friendly as of today. While bookings are required, we are welcoming the community to walk-in at a time that suits them to get the jab.
Win a free coffee by uploading your proof of vaccination
Evidence of your first dose needs to be uploaded into the COVID vaccination hub by next Thursday, 30 September.
Staff who upload their vaccination certificate or card this week will go into a daily draw to receive five free coffees (or hot drinks) at your local facility cafe.
If you’ve got the certificate in your Apple Wallet you can find the date/s when you received your vaccine by tapping on the three dots in the top right-hand corner. Please discuss any issues you experience with your line manager first.
Regards,
Louise O’Riordan
Metro North COVID-19 Health Incident Controller
Metro North remains on Tier 1
Despite this ease of restrictions, Metro North will continue to remain on Tier 1 in our COVID response plan and moderate risk PPE, with fever clinic staff and emergency department triage staff wearing P2/N95 masks. We will be assessing this status over the next few weeks.
PPE guidelines are online for healthcare delivery and for residential aged care and disability accommodation.
