14 December 2021
Dear colleagues,
From tomorrow, 15 Dec 2021, any worker visiting a healthcare setting will be required to be double-vaccinated against COVID-19 to step on campus.
While our healthcare workforce is already vaccinated, this is important information for those not employed by Queensland Health but attending our sites. This includes contractors of all types, staff that work in independent businesses on our facilities such as those at food and beverage or retail outlets, and anyone visiting our facilities to deliver a service.
If you have contractors, suppliers or any other workers who visit you as part of your role, you must familiarise yourself with these rules ahead of tomorrow and ensure you are meeting the requirements of the Workers in Healthcare Direction. Please communicate this information to any worker you are engaging with or are responsible for, and reach out to our Metro North EOC if you need support.
From Friday, 17 December 2021, any visitors to our facilities will also require proof of double-vaccination status to visit a patient. There are only rare exceptions to this rule, as outlined here.
Please continue to wear your mask at work when not seated or social distancing, check-in at our sites, and get your booster shot if you’re due.
Regards,
Louise O’Riordan
Metro North Health Incident Controller
