Dear colleagues,
- Current Tier 3 situation
- Mask requirements
- Record your booster
There are 6667 new COVID cases reported in Queensland.
Current Tier 3 situation
The weekend was extremely busy across our hospitals with an increase of more than 30 COVID inpatients.
We currently have 772 COVID patients in our care including 120 inpatients with 5 in ICU. We are expecting numbers to increase as we head to the predicted peak at the end of the week.
Today we have opened additional COVID beds create more capacity across the system. We are looking at how we can also create additional capacity for Mental Health clients with COVID.
We are on Tier 3 of our COVID-19 response plan.
Metro North currently has 840 staff out of the workplace due to either being close contacts or COVID positive, in addition to other sick leave and planned school holiday leave.
We have returned 179 close contact staff under the Critical Essential Worker requirements.
Mask and vaccination requirements
Community restrictions are changing from 1am this Thursday, however Metro North is still in the high risk category for PPE requirements.
Facemasks and relevant PPE are mandatory across all of Metro North. Vaccination and check in requirements will remain for healthcare facilities, aged and disability care accommodation, and prisons.
