Dear colleagues,

With the early easing of Queensland’s border restrictions from tomorrow at 1am, Monday 13 December, it’s important to know what is required from you if you’re returning from a hotspot.

Anyone returning from a hotspot, which includes New South Wales, Victoria, ACT and certain parts of the Northern Territory as well as greater Adelaide, will have to:

  • Have a negative COVID-19 PCR test taken within 72 hours prior to arriving in Queensland AND;
  • Agree to have a COVID-19 PCR test taken on Day 5 of your return to Queensland

You should return to work as normal and do not need to quarantine if you have been double-vaccinated against COVID-19. You are able to work as normal ahead of your Day 5 test, and while waiting for your Day 5 test results. The directive is here.

If you have any COVID-19 symptoms or have been to an exposure site, you should get tested and isolate immediately.

Our hospital and health service visitor direction will be in place from Friday 17 December. Ahead of this, you should link your vaccination certificate to the Check In Qld app ready for next Friday.

This is very easy and quick, and can be done in a few steps:

  1. Make sure you’ve got the most up to date version of the Check in Qld app
  2. Login to the Medicare app (download if you don’t have it)
  3. Click on ‘proof of vaccination’ and ‘view history’
  4. Select ‘share with Check In app’
  5. Choose the Check In Qld app.

If you’re due for your COVID booster, you can bring your ID and Medicare card to any of our vaccination clinics to get your next dose.

Regards,
Louise O’Riordan
