Dear colleagues,
Thank you for continuing to wear masks across our Metro North facilities and encouraging visitors to do the same while on our premises. You are working to keep our vulnerable patients and staff safe. This mask rule will be reviewed weekly as we monitor the current situation in Queensland.
The Queensland Government recently released a plan for public health and social measures once we are at 80 % vaccination status across the State. The plan stipulates that from this date, unvaccinated visitors are not allowed in our facilities, unless for the purposes of medical treatment, end of life, childbirth, or another emergency situation. We understand there are a number of questions surrounding how this will affect our patients and we have set up a working group to plan how we will implement the visitor component of this plan and what this will look like.
As our working group continues to meet, we will have more details we can share and we look forward to providing them to you all over the coming weeks.
Questions are always welcome and best directed to our Metro North EOC team – EOC-MetroNorth@health.qld.gov.au.
A reminder that staff who had a second dose of COVID vaccine at least six months ago can now get a booster at any Metro North vaccination clinic. Please bring your ID and Medicare card.
Regards,
Louise O’Riordan
Metro North Health Incident Controller
