COVID-19 update 330 | 22/01/2022

Dear colleagues,

  • Fit testing this weekend
  • Entering Queensland from overseas

Today there are 15,050 reported new cases of COVID-19 in Queensland. We continue to be prepared to care for those cases that need hospital services.

Fit testing this weekend

In order to be prepared to care for our cases we have ramped up fit testing for those that have yet to be fit tested, and for those that are fitted for masks that are in low supply. Fit testing is available this weekend as follows:

  • Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital
  • Ned Hanlon Building, room 6614
  • Saturday and Sunday, 7.00am – 3.30pm
  • The Prince Charles Hospital
  • Education Centre, Room 13
  • Saturday and Sunday, 7.45am – 4pm (walk in service)
  • Redcliffe Hospital
  • Located in the demountable at the front of the hospital between the ED and main entrance
  • Saturday and Sunday, 8.00am – 4.30pm
  • North Lakes Health Precinct
  • Saturday and Sunday, 8.00am – 3.00pm
  • Cooinda Residential Aged Care
  • Saturday, 8.00am – 3.00pm
  • Sunday, 10.00am – 6.00pm

Entering Queensland from overseas

From 1am this morning Quarantine for International Arrivals Direction (No. 20) is in effect which means that fully vaccinated international arrivals to Queensland are not required to quarantine if:

  • They have undertaken a COVID-19 test within 24 hours of their arrival in Queensland, and
  • They isolate at their residence, accommodation or boat until they receive a negative result.

Unvaccinated international travellers will need to quarantine on arrival at Queensland in government-nominated accommodation.

A special thank you to staff who continue to perform PCR testing to the public and our fit testing staff. Both cohorts have been working endlessly to make sure our community and colleagues feel safe and protected.

Kind regards,

Dr Liz Rushbrook
