Message from the Metro North Health Incident Controller – COVID-19 update 413 | 24/06/2022

Dear colleagues,

  • COVID-19 update on some eased restrictions
  • COVID-19 cases at Metro North Health

Today we have seen the removal of some COVID-19 restrictions in Queensland, effective 30 June 2022. From this date, mandatory COVID-19 vaccinations will no longer be required for visitors to:

  • Residential aged care
  • Disability accommodation
  • Corrective service facilities

The high-risk worker COVID-19 vaccination mandate has been revoked in certain places including schools, however, mandatory COVID-19 vaccinations are still required for workers in healthcare, hospitals, aged care and disability care.

We have seen a number of COVID-19 cases across Metro North Health, with 534 patients in our care, 106 of those as inpatients.

Additionally, many of our staff are also away at the moment, with 447 staff unable to work due to having COVID-19 or being a close case where they can’t attend work.

Thank you for your continued efforts during this winter illness period.

Take care and enjoy the weekend.

Kind Regards,

Louise O’Riordan
Metro North Health Incident Controller
