Metro North Health Incident Controller

24 September 2021

Dear colleagues,

The Chief Health Officer has announced this morning that the requirement to wear masks in south east Queensland will be extended, but you can now remove your mask while you’re seated in a venue – this does not apply to work. Metro North remains on Tier 1 and moderate PPE (see below) and we will continue to wear masks as we have been until otherwise advised by the Chief Health Officer.

Mask update – outside the workplace

For outside the workplace this means you can remove your mask while seated in venues such as theatres, cinemas and cafes.

You are still required to wear a mask when you can’t observe social distancing, on public transport, in taxis or rideshares and at indoor venues when you’re standing or moving around.

Residents in south-east Queensland must continue to carry a face mask at all times when you leave home.

Pop up vaccination clinic at Suncorp Stadium

A huge thank you to all staff members who have done an incredible job at setting up and activating our first pop up clinic at an event! The two sites, at the north and south of Suncorp Stadium, look fantastic and will hopefully see a lot of foot traffic over the next few days as NRL-goers head out to watch the footy.

And please don’t forget to upload evidence of your COVID-19 vaccine here.

Regards,

Louise O’Riordan
Metro North COVID-19 Health Incident Controller

Metro North remains on Tier 1

Despite this ease of restrictions, Metro North will continue to remain on Tier 1 in our COVID response plan and moderate risk PPE, with fever clinic staff and emergency department triage staff wearing P2/N95 masks. We will be assessing this status over the next few weeks.

PPE guidelines are online for healthcare delivery and for residential aged care and disability accommodation.
