Message from the Metro North Health Incident Controller – COVID-19 update 397 | 25/04/2022

Dear colleagues,

Today on Anzac Day, we take pause to remember the men and women who served and sacrificed for our country. Our hospitals and health services have a long history of involvement with defence personnel, and many of our staff actively serve in the defence force.

For the first time in three years, Anzac Day services have happened across the country without being disrupted by COVID-19 pandemic restrictions. We have all been able to gather together to honour those who died while serving Australia.

Lest we forget.

Move to Tier 3

We will move to Tier 3 of our COVID-19 response plan from 7am tomorrow, Tuesday 26 April. This means an increase in planned care and some face-to-face training and meetings will resume.

We remain in the high-risk category for PPE requirements.

Facemasks and relevant PPE are mandatory across all of Metro North. Vaccination and check in requirements will remain for healthcare facilities, aged and disability care accommodation, and prisons.

Tuesday vidcast

Our next vidcast is tomorrow, Tuesday 26 April, at 11.30am. Chief Allied Health Practioner and Chief Wellbeing Officer Mark Butterworth, Manager of Workforce Culture and Engagement Hazel Harden and Staff Psychologist Andrew Craker will be available to answer questions about staff wellbeing and Metro North’s COVID response. If you can’t join live, recordings of previous COVID vidcasts and Executive vidcasts are available online.

Regards,

Alanna Geary
Metro North Health Incident Controller
