Metro North Health Incident Controller

27 September 2021

Dear colleagues,

The State Health Emergency Coordination Centre (SHECC) has advised that healthcare services in South East Queensland have moved to low risk PPE.

See the PPE matrix in Personal protective equipment in healthcare delivery, community health and in-home care settings, correctional services and Personal protective equipment in residential aged care and disability accommodation services for specific information relating to your work.

A decision about moving tiers in our Metro North pandemic response plan will be made tomorrow morning at our executive team meeting.

We are still required to follow the community mask rules in the direction announced last week:

Indoors

You must wear a face mask at all times when you are indoors, including workplaces unless:

  • you are seated
  • you can stay 1.5 metres away from others (only in your workplace)
  • you are at your residence and there is no one else there except people you live with
  • you are eating or drinking
  • it is unsafe to wear a mask.

Outdoors

You must wear a face mask outdoors when you are unable to stay 1.5 metres away from people who are not from your household. You must also wear a face mask at public transport waiting areas or taxi ranks and in outdoor workplaces unless:

  • you are seated
  • you are alone or with the members of your household
  • you are alone in your car or with the members of your household
  • you are eating or drinking
  • you are participating in strenuous exercise
  • it is unsafe to wear a mask.

Residents in south-east Queensland must continue to carry a face mask at all times when you leave home.

Suncorp Stadium pop up clinics

Thank you to everyone who worked at our vaccination clinics at Suncorp Stadium on Friday and Saturday for the NRL games.

And please don’t forget to upload evidence of your COVID-19 vaccine here.

Regards,

Louise O’Riordan
Metro North COVID-19 Health Incident Controller

Metro North remains on Tier 1

Despite this ease of restrictions, Metro North will continue to remain on Tier 1 in our COVID response plan and low risk PPE.

PPE guidelines are online for healthcare delivery and for residential aged care and disability accommodation.
