Co-implementing practice change
It is now time to implement your co-designed solution into clinical practice. This is often more challenging than we first think, but there are resources to guide you through the implementation process.
Your implementation team
Continue to work together in your co-design team through the implementation phase. Think about the skills and networks that each team member has that can help you to make practice change. Consider bringing in new members to your team if there are new skills or knowledge that are needed for implementation e.g. people who work in the setting you are implementing within (e.g. nurses, administration staff), people with implementation science expertise.
Implementation help
We recommend you start with the Queensland Health Translating Research into Practice resources, starting with the Planning for Change and Implementation modules. These will help you to think about potential barriers to change (especially if you are implementing it in a new setting) and strategies you can use to overcome these. We know that receiving mentoring from peers and experts in implementation is important, so we encourage you to seek support. If you are an allied health professional this can be provided through the AH-TRIP program.
