Caring for each other

Co-design is a relational process that only works when team members look after and care for each other. Co-design is not easy, and for some people, it may even by re-traumatising if we don’t plan for safety and care from the start.

Your team can build the conditions to care for each other by:

  • Assessing the fit of the team
  • Establishing a support team
  • Building relationships
  • Offering genuine invitations
  • Widening inclusion
  • Connecting co-designers
  • Seeking ongoing feedback
  • Having courageous conversations
  • Seeking ongoing relationships
  • Caring for each other
  • Developing frameworks for safety
