Metro North Health Incident Controller

29 September 2021

Dear colleagues,

Queensland cases

Queensland has recorded one new community case of COVID-19, a close contact of the Eatons Hill man who worked at an aviation training facility that tested positive on Monday.

The mandate on mask wearing and restrictions on visitors to aged care and disability facilities, hospitals and correctional facilities that were put in place yesterday in Brisbane and the Moreton Bay area will now extend to the Gold Coast.

Another case has been in the community while infectious but was not included in Queensland’s numbers as he was tested in New South Wales.

Genome sequencing has shown these latest Queensland cases are new clusters and aren’t linked to any case in Queensland while contact tracers work hard to determine where they came from.

Please continue to practice good social distancing and hand hygiene, and get tested in you have any symptoms, and use the QR codes to check in as you move around. Check the contact tracing website regularly to see if you have been near a known positive case.

Vaccine

It’s time to upload evidence of your COVID-19 vaccine if you haven’t done so already. Please make it a priority for today.

Regards,

Louise O’Riordan
Metro North COVID-19 Health Incident Controller
