National Victims of Crime Day Recognition
A National Victims of Crime Day recognition event was held at Parliament House on 14 October 2022.
The event was sponsored by the Attorney General, the Honourable Shannon Fentiman. The theme was ‘Victim’s Voices’, aimed at recognising strategies and system improvements that have occurred as a result of victims speaking out. Presentations highlighting initiatives in Queensland occurred, followed by an afternoon tea and networking opportunity.
There were many services and agencies present, including QLD Health Victim Support Service, Victim Assist QLD, VictimConnect, Office of the Director of Public Prosecution, and QLD Police Service Vulnerable Persons’ Unit.
Suzanne Williams and Sally Nahak represented QLD Health Victim Support Service, Metro North Mental Health.

If you are a manager or director and have not attended the Metro North Values based orientation since 2019, please register to attend the Professional and Positive Workplace Culture Orientation via TMS.
This short face-to-face session focuses on our Metro North Health Service values and culture. This module forms part of our “All Staff Orientation” that is held for all new employees. Please note, you are not required to stay for the whole Metro North All Staff Orientation, however, you are expected to undertake all activities of the Professional and Positive Workplace Culture session from 8.00am – 9.40am.

As we have faced another challenging year, I would like to thank the Metro North Mental Health Staff for their ongoing commitment and dedication throughout 2022. Our successes wouldn’t have happened if it wasn’t for the hard work of all our teams!
