The RBWH Peer Responder Program is gearing up for a big year ahead, after kicking some big goals in 2022.
July 2022 marked the first anniversary of the program commencing at RBWH, which has now expanded throughout Metro North.
In its first year, the RBWH Peer Responders provided support to more than 340 RBWH staff. This accounts for 47 per cent of all support provided across Metro North – a stellar effort by the foundational cohort of Peer Responders!
Peer Responders actively participated in supporting many wellbeing-focused events throughout the year including Mental Health Week and its hallmark event Wellbeing Wednesday, RUOK? Day, Crazy Socks 4 Docs, Gender Service Bake Sale, the Team Royal Winter Warmer and RBWH Foundation Giving Day.
Despite the uncertainty and barriers that came with COVID-19, the Peer Responder team continued to provide peer-based support during the most challenging of seasons. With the Peer Responder Program now permanently funded across Metro North, the team looks forward to further expanding and strengthening staff wellbeing support in 2023.
