On Monday 16 January, RBWH warmly welcomed the hospital’s 2023 medical interns for their orientation. The week-long event included a range of presentations, activities and networking opportunities to help the medical interns settle into their new role at the hospital.
Medical interns Kudrat Sidhu, Anoushka Kothari, Rebecca Norvock and Samhuta Gutta, pictured, were thrilled to have the opportunity to complete their intern year at RBWH.
“Being a tertiary care facility, I think it will be great to start in a big hospital, meet lots of new people and make lots of connections,” Anoushka said.
“The supportive aspect of RBWH also sounds fantastic. I already feel that my wellbeing and integration into the workforce is a priority.
“Both my parents are doctors, so I’ve had the bar set very high. They’re very excited that I’ve moved back home to peruse my career in medicine.”
Rebecca Novock said she has heard great things about RBWH from other doctors, particularly in relation to the variety of specialties medical interns are exposed to.
“I’m not only the first person in my family to study medicine, but the first to graduate from university,” Rebecca said.
“I was very lucky to have a lot of support to pursue medicine and look forward to learning from my colleagues at RBWH.”
