The last month has been inspirational with some great new initiatives and innovations being delivered to help us improve the care we provide to our community and the elderly.
And, at the same time our staff have been continuing to meet the high demand, bed pressures and ongoing work required at the forefront of the COVID-19 response.
Your efforts continue to amaze me. I am thankful that I work with such a great team.
I would like to highlight a few things in particular:
- The efforts of staff to set up the Community and Oral Health Innovation Research Centre, first ever Deadly Smiles Service and GEM@Home trial.
- The great work of our Oral Health teams who have constantly had to adapt to the shifting precautions around our general dental care, as well as shifting gear to focus on our wait lists.
- Our clinical and support staff across all service lines as demand on our services continues to remain high.
- Our support staff who have been going above and beyond to ensure concierge coverage across all oral health and community services.
- The staff at Gannet and Cooinda Houses who wrapped around the residents to ensure they were supported when the Commonwealth attended to do the COVID-19 vaccinations.
- Across the board our Community and Oral Health team performance has been exceptional, while introducing extra beds at Interim Care to help patient demand across Metro North.
- And, finally the efforts in hotel quarantine and our vaccination clinics at STARS and Brighton, plus the ongoing fever clinic at Pine Rivers, which is helping to keep our community safe.
The efforts have been mammoth – thank you!
