More than $520,000 in patient experience, patient care and research grants have been announced by the RBWH Foundation thanks to the extraordinary power of giving to RBWH Foundation Giving Day 2022.
The manufacture of 3D printed artificial eyes and a state-wide support program for families with loved ones in the Intensive Care Unit are among the 15 inaugural Extraordinary Opportunities grants chosen to transform the patient experience at RBWH.
“The theme of these grants is to create opportunity to improve patient care,” said RBWH Foundation CEO Simone Garske.
“The projects include patient education, care leading up to a treatment, support of family members, and creating a community of healthcare resources.
“All of these projects have the ability to touch thousands of lives around Queensland and potentially Australia each year.”
More than 60 submissions were assessed by a panel with representation from both RBWH and the RBWH Foundation. Funds were raised through the dedication and enthusiasm of Foundation donors and Team Royal fundraisers who supported RBWH Foundation Giving Day 2022.
The RBWH Foundation urges Team Royal to mark Wednesday 14 June in their calendars for the 2023 RBWH Foundation Giving Day. Channel Seven’s Sunrise has again been confirmed to broadcast the event.
“We’re hoping to raise even more funds, to support even more incredible initiatives,” said Ms Garske.
A summary of the fifteen grants funded are available on the RBWH Foundation website.
