Consultation is now open for the proposed Medical Officers’ (Queensland Health) Certified Agreement (No 6) 2022 (MOCA6). I encourage all doctors to attend one of these sessions or to review the available online resources supporting consultation.
Session times:
- Monday 17 April, 8am and 5pm
- Wednesday 19 April, 12pm
- Thursday 20 April, 8am and 5pm.
The TEAMS meeting links are available via the QH MOCA6 website (under Metro North HHS).

Mandatory Training – Recording your Professional Development Plan
From 01 January 2023, the revised Continuing Professional Development registration standard of the Medical Board requires all doctors to have a Professional Development Plan. You can read more about this requirement on the AHPRA website.
It is a requirement of Metro North for all Medical Officers to have maintain evidence of their Professional Development Plans (PDP) on the Metro North Talent Management System (TMS). Currently the completion rate for Metro North Medical officers is just under 50%. I urge you all to take the time this month to update your PDP (if it needs updating) and update TMS.
For SMOs, templates and information can be found within the Metro North Procedure – Senior Medical Officers and Visiting Medical Officers – Supporting and Developing Performance
For RMOs, their hospital pre-vocational plan/assessment/s, or relevant periodic college plan/assessments are deemed equivalent. With the introduction of CPD homes over the coming year, there will be some changes to the format of these plan/assessment/s. PDPs should be lodged on completion on The Metro North Talent Management System.
To add your PDP completion date to your TMS account, follow these instructions.
Medical Leadership Intensive Program
We are launching a new Medical Leadership Intensive Program as part of our commitment to supporting medical leaders working in Metro North. This is in addition to the wide range of general leadership tools and training available within Metro North. Effective medical leadership is essential to the safe and efficient delivery of patient care, and contributes to good workplace culture, productivity and quality.
The Medical Leadership Intensive Program is aimed at Clinical Directors and Medical Directors within Metro North and those preparing to step up to these positions. Its aim is to equip participants with a good understanding of what makes an effective leader, and how to successfully navigate the challenges of a complex and changing health care system and influence positive change.
The program is facilitated by an expert faculty of highly experienced medical leaders and educators and will be delivered in three individual sessions (1 full day and two half days) spread over a 12-week period.
The first two cohorts will run between May and August 2023.
Cohort 1:
- 11 May – full day
- 15 June – half day
- 3 August – half day
Cohort 2:
- 25 May – full day
- 13 July – half day
- 17 August – half day
We will shortly be calling for nominations. Register your interest. For more information email MedicalLeadershipIP_MN@health.qld.gov.au.
