The RBWH Foundation has been selected as charity of choice for the auction of an incredible two-metre-high sculpture, “The Heartful Grimmer”, hand-painted by Brisbane artist Ann Nguyen.
The sculpture is one of ten on display at the Toowong Village Heart Gallery, with each unique piece set to be auctioned off for charity at the end of May.
Ann Nguyen, pictured with RBWH Foundation CEO Simone Garske, left a career in law to pursue her passion and is now nationally renowned for her signature plant pots.
“The colours are inspired by tropical Queensland sunsets,” explained Ann.
“One of my favourite parts of an afternoon is watching the sky turn into beautiful pinks, blues and golden colours.
“The white leafy outlines I painted over the heart are a tribute to our leafy Brisbane suburbs and my own personal love of plants.”
The online silent auction for the hearts is now open and closes on May 31, so be sure to visit the Heart Gallery at Toowong Village.

Thank you, Toowong Village and Ann Nguyen, for joining with the RBWH Foundation in advancing patient care and life-saving research at Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital (RBWH).
